EGG Lens

  • How do I know if the EGG lens will fit my camera?
    • Check if there is any filter thread to mount filter lens/lens adapter. If not, check if there is any lens adapter available for the same.
    • For best results, the resolution should be 3 mega pixel or higher
    • Minimum focus distance needed for the camera should be less than 13 cm or Macro focus
    • should be 13cm or less.
    • A function to control aperture or Aperture Priority Mode.
    • Function to disable flash.
    • Function for setting self timer.
  • What is macro mode?
  • The ability of the lens to focus closer for taking pictures, especially of small objects, with the ratio 1:1.
  • What is the minimum memory card required for the camera?
  • The size of memory does not matter to use the EGG photo 360 Lens. A bigger card only helps in storing more pictures in the camera.
  • How is the image quality affected when we change formats from JPEG to TIFF?
  • Both are types of compression techniques used to store images. A Jpeg file size will be smaller than Tiff. For normally web applications we used Jpeg, since it give us good quality images in low file size.

  • Is there any difference in taking photos in .tiff or .jpeg files when we create virtual tours using the EGG Photo 360 software?
  • Jpegs help store images in small sizes, when compared to Tiff. It also helps to load virtual tours in any browser faster than Tiff images.

  • Apart from EGG Photo 360 software, is it possible to use EGG 360 lens with other software?
  • No, there is no other software available in the market to use images from the EGG Lens.

  • What are the different types of EGG lens available in the market?
  • We have only one model of the EGG Lens in the market.

  • Can I use .bmp file to make virtual tours?
  • Yes, but the virtual tour file size will be larger.

  • Can I use the EGG Photo 360 lens with a surveillance camera?
  • That depends on the camera's lens and threads provided by the manufacturer.

  • What Is Depth of Field (DOF)?
  • Depth of field (DOF) is the distance where in objects are in focus.

  • What Is ISO?
  • ISO sensitivity expresses the speed of photographic negative materials (formerly expressed as ASA).

    Since digital cameras do not use film but use image sensors instead, the ISO equivalent is usually given.

  • Please tell me how to find the serial number of an EGG lens?
  • The Serial no will be printed on the packing box.

  • Is there an Apple Macintosh version of EGG Photo?
  • Yes,

  • What is the optical zoom required for the camera to use the Egg Photo 360 lens?
  • There is optical zoom factor directly depends egg lens, but preferably a camera having 3x give best results.

  • I have been asked by real estate agents about 180 degree viewing option only. Is this possible? Can it some how be arranged?
  • No. It's not possible to generate 180 degree view by egg photo 360 lens. Normally Fish Eye lenses are used for generating 180 images. But these lenses cannot be used for creating virtual tours like the EGG Photo lens 360.

  • What is the field of view for EGG Photo 360 lens?
  • It's 360x90 degrees.

  • Which brands of adapters does Egg solution supply with EGG Photo 360 lens?
  • We do not sell any adapters for any brand of cameras with the EGG Photo 360 lens.

  • What sizes of stepping rings are available with the EGG Photo 360 lens?
  • 7 different sizes of stepping rings are provided with our lens:

    28mm => 37mm
    37mm => 46mm

    43mm => 46mm
    49mm => 46mm
    52mm => 46mm

    55mm => 49mm
    58mm => 49mm

  • Is there any difference between stepping rings and lens adapters?
  • Lens adapters used to mount add-on lenses for digital cameras. Stepping rings are used to change the ring size of an adapter or cameras to mount add-on lenses. Most digital cameras extend their lenses when switched on, and an adapter allows the camera to extend the lens without any obstruction.

  • What is the best camera to use with the EGG Photo 360 lens?
  • Any camera with a resolution of 3 mega pixel or more does the job. Always use a camera with good optical zoom and high resolution. The rest depends on the budget of the user.

  • Does the quality of an image depend on the optical zoom feature of camera, when we use EGG Photo 360 lens?
  • It's true that optical zoom has an edge, where good field of view is concerned. But a camera with 5 x optical zoom will get best results with the EGG Photo 360 lens.

  • What is the difference between optical and digital zoom?
  • Optical zoom is the magnification factor between the minimum and maximum focal lengths of the lens. An optical zoom actually changes the focal length of your lens. As a result, the image is magnified by the lens (sometimes called the optic, hence "optical" zoom). With greater magnification, the light is spread across the entire CCD sensor and all of the pixels can be used. You can think of an optical zoom as a true zoom that will improve the quality of your pictures.

    Digital zoom is software that magnifies a portion of the information that hits the sensor. Let's say you are shooting a picture with a 2X digital zoom. The camera will use half of the pixels at the center of the CCD sensor and ignore all the other pixels. Then it will use interpolation techniques to add detail to the photo. Although it may look like you are shooting a picture with twice the magnification, you can get the same results by shooting the photo without zoom and blowing up the picture using any computer software.

  • What's the best ISO setting when we use the EGG Photo 360 lens?
  • The best setting would be auto. But if you have an eye for detail, a low ISO setting like ISO 100 would reduce the noise present in the image.

  • I have a video camera that has photo capability. Can I use that with the EGG lens ?
  • Unfortunately, the photo resolution of video cameras is not up to the level (3.5MP) required for use with our lens.

  • Are there any keys or fees that I have to pay after I purchase EGG Photo ?
  • No! Once you purchase the system, there are no other per-image or licensing costs.

  • My EGG photos are coming out fuzzy. Why ?
  • There could be several reasons. Because of the unique design of the EGG lens, your camera will require using an aperture (f-stop) of at least 5.6 or higher numerically. You must also use the macro function. Put the camera on a tripod and use the self timer to trip the shutter.

  • Does any software need to be installed on the web server ?
  • There is no server side software required.

  • Will viewers have to download files to their hard drive to view the EGG Photo's on my web site ?
  • No files are downloaded to the viewer's hard drive. The images download into their browser's cache.

  • When I take an EGG 360° photo inside a room, it looks like an atom bomb went off outside. The windows and doors are nothing but white light. How can I fix this ?
  • Your camera is being overloaded by the sun light. You need to even out the exposure in the room. Try closing the blinds or drapes, shutting the doors, and turning the lights in the room on. Sun light is very intense. You want to try to even out the light sources in your 360° photo.

  • When I am outside and the sun is shining brightly, the area of my photo where the sun is located is overexposed and there is light streaking all around that part of the picture. What can I do ?
  • Unlike standard photography where you can put the sun at your back, 360 photography has different requirements. You must try to hide the sun behind an object (such as a tree or a pole) or try shooting when the sun is higher in the sky. Shooting outside in the Winter is particularly difficult, because the sun is low in the sky.

  • I am shooting inside a room with several spotlights and I'm getting light streaking in my photos. How can I fix this ?
  • Light beaming directly into the lens causes the streaking you are seeing. Try adjusting the lights so they do not point directly into the lens. Any intense, direct source of light that enters the lens will cause reflection and streaking.

  • The horizon in my EGG photo's moves up and down as I pan around the picture. Why does this happen ?
  • The lens was not level when you took the picture. Mount your camera on a tripod and make sure the lens is level.

  • My picture is not as sharp as I would like it. What can I do to fix this ?
  • Make sure your camera is set to the highest resolution and all other settings are correct. Mount your camera on a tripod and use the self timer to take the photo.

  • What size are the EGG albums ?
  • That is contingent upon two settings: First, the image size settings used in your camera. Second, the level of compression you use in the EGG Photo software. The album size is user variable.

  • Is it possible to customize the splash screen which appears before the images load ?
